Hummous

A great dip for parties, we like to have this on hand for snacking anytime.  Inexpensive and healthy, this Middle-Eastern based dish uses canned chick peas for simplicity, but you can cook your own if you’re so inclined.

 

Hummous

 

4 Cups Chick peas, drained

1/3 Cup Tahini

1/3 Cup Virgin olive oil

1/3 Cup Warm water (if necessary)

4 Cloves Garlic

1 1/2 tsp. Salt

2 tsp. Cumin

1/2 tsp. White pepper

Juice of 3 lemons

 

Combine all ingredients in food processor.  Process until smooth, adjusting seasonings as necessary.

RED PEPPER HUMMOUS – Add 1-2 roasted and peeled peppers to above.
